Vacation! Well, kind of?

So Dave was hoping to take a good week off for us to go places and have a vacation together but with his work as it is right now and all the things the boys are in that was proving to be quite the challenge. So instead he just took some extra days off here and there and the last couple of weeks have been VERY busy as you will see. This post is going to be rather picture heavy. The first is just the kids messing around with the camera while waiting for Dave to get home from work so we could go to our over night stay at a water park. Ozzye sporting his first swimsuit!
That is all of us on the lazy river.
Then the next night Dave took the boys to a football game which Kain, especially LOVED. But no pictures from that night. The next morning we went to Madison for my friend Andrea's wedding. It was lovely. Ceremony on the Capital steps in the evening. Then we paraded through town with a marching band leading us to the reception.
The kids thought it was cool and even better when some of them got to ride on the pedi-cab.
After that the kids, my mom and I went to my Aunt and Uncle's 25th Wedding Anniversary party.
Ozzye meeting his Great-Aunts, although my Aunt Shelly always says since she is too young to be a great Aunt that just means they are wonderful. These are my mom's sisters, Jan and Jude. Ozzye with cousin Amber, one of his God-Mothers (we think he might get two).
Ozzye meeting Great-GrandmaBrody wearing sis's hat.Okay these pictures had nothing to do with our festivities but they were still fun.
Then we had a parade. Aubriel and Brody waving to their Bop.That evening we left for Indiana to visit my brother and family. The kids always look so forward to seeing their cousins and have a blast playing with them. The first day we went blueberry picking.
Always fun trying to get a picture of nine kids!
This one is blurry but so cute, too bad it didn't turn out better.
And of course I need to end with yet another funny picture of Brody sleeping somewhere, his cousin's monkey chair. On to August and football now!

My Baby's Allergic to Pickles!

This was the picture for the morning... This was the conversation...
Aubriel: Mom, The baby threw up. I think he is allergic to pickles.

Me: Why, did you give him a pickle?

Aubriel: NO! I don't even have a pickle.

Me: Why do you think he is allergic to them?

Aubriel: Because he always drinks mommy milk so I asked him if you should eat pickles and then he threw up, so see he is allergic to them.

Dave thinks we may have a boxer on our hands but I told Ozzye he is not allowed to do that to his mother. I think he may just be getting ready for life with Brody!

Speaking of Chick Jammies...

Is my obsession showing? It saddens my heart that, although I know she wore them, it does appear that there is not any photographic evidence proving that Aubriel was actually in the chick jammies! I was able to find a picture of each of the boys sporting them but not our little princess. So here are the four boys in all their glory...
Kain, although not the best jammies displaying picture.GageBrodyand of course Ozzye

My Baby's Birthday

Well, my other baby... He is 33!
And this was all he wanted...
...to see yet another baby wear the "chick jammies" (I actually think they are ducks but they look more like chicks, thus they were named the "chick jammies" when Kain first wore them). Now I think anyone that has even 1 baby ever has a certain piece of clothing that they simply fall in love with their baby wearing. For Dave and I it was (and still is) the chick jammies, they were a gift for Kain when he was first born from Dave's mom. There is nothing overly special about these jammies except the fact that we loved to dress Kain in them, there was something about how they hugged every curve of his round little body and 9 years ago sleepers did not define the legs quite like these did which just made his little feet pop. Of course now all of the kids have had sleepers that have done this but it is too late the chick jammies have already won our hearts! With each baby we have we patiently await the day that they get big enough to wear the infamous jammies. With Brody we almost waited too long! Dave even said today that every time he sees them he remembers them being darker and brighter in color and even when we pulled them out for Brody to wear we noticed a small hole developing in one heel. Now one would think that we could finally part with this sleeper that is getting thinner than my Dad's T-shirts (and for those of you that don't know my Dad he has a habit of wearing shirts until they resembled rice paper) but NOOO, with each baby we pull them out with more pride than the child that came before them and parade them around like they are starring in their own fashion show... and I suppose they are, for us! Dave has said this by far is going to be the saddest thing about not having any more babies... when one will no longer wear the "chick jammies".

Now I suppose we could pass them on to each of our grandchildren, although it may be something we have to keep and secretly dress them in while we are babysitting or something. Or I am sure our kids will look at pictures of themselves in something we have always held so dear and wonder "what in the world were they thinking!" kind of like David said to his mom when she brought us this picture and little outfit of his...

He wanted to know if it was common when he was a baby to be dressed so girly. I am thinking it must have been since I remember seeing pictures of my brother dressed very much the same. So there he is 390 some odd months ago and here he is today.

Sorry the pic came out a little blurry, Kain took it for me since I was holding the cake.

The oldest and youngest in our house.

Nighty night (chick jammies, yay)!
